S60 Polestar is Volvo’s fastest car, 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and is now on sale in India
Polestar is to Volvo what AMG is to Mercedes, RS is to Audi and M is to BMW. Guess Volvo was thinking, why should the Germans have all the fun!
Based on a regular road going S60, the S60 Polestar has over 250 new parts and has been tested all over the world.
The S60Polestar is 80% stiffer than the regular S60, yet maintains the comfort which we have all known to be a staple in newer Volvos.
Unlike the Germans, who tend to overdo the badges, the S60 Polestar is modest in line with Volvo’s family values. The one on the exhaust pipes, though, is a classy touch!
The short drive at Kari Motor Speedway was enough to know the intentions of this sports sedan though – its happy to shed its good manners and delight you.
Volvo’s new range of Drive E engines is what powers the S60 Polestar, with a 2 litre 4 cylinder motor, turbo charged and supercharged to make 367 hp and 470 Nm of torque.
The S60 Polestar weighs 1756 kgs, comes with a Borgner AWD system and even launch control. Yeah, we are still talking about a Volvo.
The Sport+ mode ensures revs don’t drop below 4000 rpm and there are no mid corner upshifts too.
The S60 Polestar will only be available in 3 colours, but we don’t think you need to look beyond this gorgeous blue. Priced at Rs 52.5 lakh, the Volvo S60 Polestar will be available in limited numbers (30) for the Indian market.
