The all-new Force Gurkha has been launched at Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The one that you see here is the accessorised version, and for that, you’ll have to pay extra. Of course, you can individually choose the accessories that you want on your Gurkha like the all-terrain tyres, alloy wheels, roof-rack, and roof rail among other things.
But what you do get as standard on the Gurkha is a bunch of features more than its predecessor. For instance, it gets a new dashboard design along with a dark grey cabin, a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to that, there’s tilt and telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, armrests for rear captain seats, power windows, central locking and a few other features. And the huge snorkel that you see comes in as standard.
As far as safety is concerned, the Gurkha gets dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It surely covers the standard safety features on it. Underneath it is the 2.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz that makes a bit more power and torque in BS6 form; 90 bhp and 25.49 kgm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual ‘box. It gets an all-wheel drive system with low range and manual locking front and rear diffs.
For Rs 25,000, you can pre-book it, and deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth week of October. We’ve already driven the Gurkha, you can read all about it here.
