Classic Legends-backed BSA has launched the much-awaited Gold Star 650, resurrecting the legendary brand and launching it in India on a very significant day. Brought in at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3 lakh onwards, the motorcycle is designed and developed in the UK, with manufacturing based in India.

Offered in six colourways, which includes a legacy edition, the Gold Star gets a 652cc single-cylinder engine, pushing power figures of 45 bhp and 5.6 kgm of torque. The engine features liquid cooling, a DOHC, and 4 valves. The engine, developed through a collaboration between Austrian company Rotax and the Technical University of Graz, has been refined to adhere to the most current emission regulations and comes mated to a constant-mesh five-speed gearbox.

BSA Gold Star 650

The platform for the BSA Gold Star has been developed by the motorcycle wing of Ricardo Engineering. This includes the overall chassis design and development as well as the performance, handling, and calibration. It features tyres from Pirelli, a single 320 mm floating disc with a Brembo twin-piston floating calliper on the front and a single 255mm disc paired with a Brembo single-piston floating calliper on the rear.

Set to take on the likes of the Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor, bookings for the Gold Star 650 are now open. The BSA Gold Star 650 has already been launched abroad a while back, and from what we’ve heard, it is going to be a fun motorcycle to ride. Stay tuned for a detailed review soon!
