The Vespa Racing Sixties special edition was first unveiled at the Auto Expo this year and Piaggio has finally launched it today. They will be based on the Vespa SXL 125 and SXL 150, and will, of course, be BS6 compliant.
The special edition liveries are inspired by the legendary racing era of the ’60s. This special edition gets a white body with red graphics and a splash of gold on its 5-spoke alloy wheels. To create a contrast look, the rear-view mirrors, grab handles, footrests, muffler, and front and rear light applique get a matte black finish. It still gets features like an LED headlight, LED DRL, a USB mobile charging port and a boot light.
Since these special edition models are based on the Vespa SXLs, the 125cc model produces 9.79 bhp@7500 rpm and 0.97 kgm of torque@5500 rpm and the 150cc variant produces 10.25 bhp@7600rpm and 1.08 kgm torque@5500rpm. Stopping power comes in from a 200 mm disc up front and a 140 mm drum at the rear. Additionally, only the SXL 150 variant gets ABS whereas the SXL 125 gets CBS.
As for the price, the Racing Sixties SXL 125 is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom, Pune, and the Racing Sixties SXL 150 is priced at Rs 1.32 lakh, ex-showroom, Pune.
