Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the extraordinary Phantom Regatta, a one-of-one bespoke commission that reimagines its flagship Phantom Extended as a rolling tribute to classic racing yachts and the storied summer regattas of England’s south coast. Revealed ahead of the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the creation blends maritime artistry with the brand’s uncompromising luxury craftsmanship.

The Phantom Regatta’s exterior immediately sets its nautical tone. Finished in a meticulously hand-applied two-tone scheme, the body pairs deep Regatta Blue with English White, with the split line carefully positioned to mirror a yacht’s waterline as it cuts through the sea. The effect is subtle yet dramatic, giving the limousine the visual presence of a vessel in motion even at rest.

Completing the exterior are 22-inch fully polished disc wheels, designed to echo the gleaming winches and hardware found on high-performance sailing yachts. Their mirror-like finish reinforces the maritime inspiration while underscoring the Phantom’s stately proportions.

Inside, the Phantom Regatta continues its immersive narrative of life on the water. The cabin is divided into two contrasting moods: the driver’s area is wrapped in deep Navy Blue leather, evoking the depth and mystery of open seas, while the rear passenger suite is finished in serene Grace White, reminiscent of sails filled with wind and salt air.

Every surface has been treated as a canvas for storytelling. The rear picnic tables, for instance, required approximately 120 hours of craftsmanship. They are constructed from 16 hand-laid planks of Royal Walnut, separated by fine 2mm inlays of Black Bolivar wood, replicating the caulking of a luxury yacht deck with astonishing precision.

A full-width “watercolour gallery” stretches across the dashboard, featuring a bespoke hand-painted artwork that captures the motion of ocean waves. Created in-house over two weeks, the piece uses a refined blending technique applied directly onto open-pore wood, merging traditional artistry with modern material science.

Above, the iconic Starlight Headliner has been reinterpreted as the Tidal Starlight Headliner, featuring 1,307 fibre-optic lights arranged not as a night sky, but as swirling tidal patterns inspired by the waters around the Isle of Wight.

Even the smallest details carry meaning. The rotating “eyeball” air vents conceal engraved coordinates, one pointing to Goodwood House, the other to the home of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, quietly anchoring the vehicle to its heritage.

Despite its artistic transformation, the Phantom Regatta remains mechanically rooted in the flagship Phantom Extended. Power comes from the marque’s revered 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering 563 bhp with the signature near-silent surge that defines the modern Phantom experience, smooth, composed, and unhurried, like a yacht gliding across calm waters.

With the Phantom Regatta, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars once again demonstrates that bespoke luxury can transcend automotive design and become immersive storytelling.
