Most of us are familiar with EBR (Eric Buell Racing), a company with a rather turbulent past that has now emerged from the ashes (again) with its new bike — the Super Cruiser. And if the spec sheet is anything to go by, this bike promises to be the same zesty machine like the old Buells.
The Buell Super Cruiser has been designed to look like a cruiser but that’s about it. If you notice closely, the mid-set footpegs, narrow handlebar and the 17-inch wheels at both ends don’t belong to a cruiser.
And so does the 1190cc liquid-cooled v-twin powerhouse that belts out an astounding 175 bhp and 13.97 kgm — that’s more than what the BMW S 1000 R packs! Oh, and just to make things interesting, there are absolutely no electronics on the Super Cruiser… and that includes the ABS.
The Super Cruiser carries the iconic perimeter disc brake at the front just like all the other bikes from the company. That said, the petrol doesn’t sit in the frame like on the old XB and neither does it have a translucent airbox/fuel tank cover.
The Buell Super Cruiser’s raw, unadulterated performance may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it certainly will appeal to a niche bunch of enthusiasts who want a… comfortable bike with loads of lunacy?
