Tata Motors has unveiled the rear-wheel-drive variants of its highly anticipated Harrier EV, with prices starting at an attractive ₹21.49 lakh (introductory ex-showroom). The electric SUV will be offered in five RWD configurations, while the all-wheel-drive variants and their pricing will be announced on June 27. Bookings for the complete range will commence from July 2, marking Tata’s bold entry into the premium electric SUV segment.
The Harrier EV lineup features a progressive pricing structure across its variants. The entry-level Adventure 65 starts at ₹21.49 lakh, with the Adventure S 65 priced slightly higher at ₹21.99 lakh. Moving up the range, the Fearless+ trim comes in two battery options – the 65 at ₹23.99 lakh and the 75 at ₹24.99 lakh. Topping the RWD range is the premium Empowered 75 variant at ₹27.49 lakh, offering the most comprehensive feature set in the lineup.
The Harrier EV carries forward the premium appointments of its ICE sibling while adding electric-specific innovations. The cabin boasts dual-zone climate control, twin digital displays, and ventilated front seats with power adjustment. A highlight is its segment-first auto park function, complemented by Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera with transparent bonnet view, and a premium 10-speaker JBL audio system. Safety remains paramount with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts across all variants.
Powering the Harrier EV is a sophisticated electric drivetrain with the rear motor delivering 234bhp and the front motor adding 154bhp, combining for an impressive 504Nm of torque – among the highest in its class. Buyers can choose between 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs, with the larger unit promising up to 627km range (official figures to be confirmed on June 27). The EV supports ultra-fast charging, capable of adding 250km range in just 15 minutes, while a 20-80% charge takes 25 minutes using a 120kW DC fast charger. The package includes both Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) capabilities, enhancing its versatility. Tata backs the battery with an unlimited warranty for the first private owner, reducing to 10 years or 200,000 km in case of ownership transfer.
