Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has taken a significant step towards enhancing safety in its entry-level offerings. The company has announced that the S-Presso and Alto K10 will now come equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard across all variants.

ESP is a crucial safety feature that helps to maintain vehicle stability during sudden maneuvers or slippery road conditions. By detecting oversteer or understeer, ESP can apply corrective braking to prevent skidding and loss of control. This is particularly important in India, where road conditions can be unpredictable.

The addition of ESP to the S-Presso and Alto K10 is a welcome move, as these models are popular choices among first-time buyers and those on a budget. While these cars have previously been criticized for their safety ratings, the inclusion of ESP is a significant step in the right direction.

Maruti Suzuki has not increased the prices of the S-Presso and Alto K10 despite the addition of ESP. This means that buyers can now enjoy enhanced safety without paying extra.

With ESP now standard on all Maruti Suzuki models except the Eeco, the company has demonstrated its commitment to providing safe and reliable vehicles to Indian consumers. This move is expected to further strengthen the brand’s reputation and appeal to a wider range of buyers.
