Hyundai has launched the next-generation Verna in India. The car is available in four variants, EX, S, SX and SX (O), with prices starting at Rs. 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Featuring the brand’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design philosophy, the new Verna gets a completely revamped look. It has a large trapezoidal grille with a sleek LED light bar stretching across the front end, and an L-shaped LED taillight at the rear.
The new Verna is being offered with two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit that makes 113 bhp and 14.6 kgm. This is paired with a 6-speed manual and an iVT. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine develops 158 bhp and 25.7 kgm and comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
On the inside, the Verna gets a dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. Equipped with a 2-spoke steering wheel, it also gets ventilated and heated front seats and a powered driver’s seat. The interior also features 64-colour ambient lighting, a Bose audio system, automatic climate control, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof and a smart trunk.
In terms of safety, the new Verna comes equipped with 6 airbags, and disc brakes on all four corners along with ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. The car also gets ADAS features like Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane-keep warning, blind spot warning and safe exit warning.
