Meet the Suzuki V-Strom SX. It is Suzuki Motorcycle India’s first adventure tourer in the 250cc segment, priced at Rs 2.12 lakh (ex-Delhi). It competes directly with the similarly priced Yezdi Adventure but falls short on performance. Powering the V-Strom SX is a 250cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 26 bhp and 2.63 kgm, while the Adventure’s 334cc single-cylinder engine produces 29.7 bhp and 3.04 kgm.
Other than that, the V-Strom SX gets a 19/17-inch wheel setup with 205 mm of ground clearance but has a higher seat height at 835 mm. However, it tips the scale at 167 kg and has a 12-litre fuel tank. The valves, shim type roller rocker arms, retainers and piston for the sports adventure tourer were developed using analytic technology from MotoGP. The piston in the V-Strom SX helps to boost output and improve fuel efficiency. This MotoGP technology will be passed down to the next generation.
Other features on the ADV include LED headlights and tail lights, handy knuckle covers, a large-ish windscreen, Bluetooth connectivity and navigation to be displayed alongside the LCD instrument console, also a USB charger. You can spec the V-Strom SX in three different colour options: Champion Yellow, Pearl Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black. Also, if you had to pick between the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the KTM 250 Adventure, or the Yezdi Adventure, do let us know which one would you pick.
