We all might have heard about the world’s highest motorable road in Ladakh. But, have you heard of world’s highest EV charging station? Pune’s goEgoNetwork has installed Bharat AC and Dual Socket Type 2 chargers at Kaza, Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas. That’s technically situated at 3,800 metres or 12,467 feet. It’s only a few thousand feet away from the world’s highest motorable road.
To commemorate World Zero-Emission Day on September 21, 2021, the #mission0emission trip commenced from Manali to Kaza on two TVS iQube Electric scooters. TVS Motor Company and goEgo cooperated to promote EV infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. Maanvi Rawlley, Marketing Communication Specialist at goEgoNetwork, and Pratiksha Das, a motorbike influencer, from Mumbai, rode the TVS iQube Electric scooters. The ride took these two brave women bikers via the dangerous Manali-Kaza route, a popular riding path in India that passes through the picturesque Kunzum-La pass.
The two bikers reached Kaza to inaugurate the EV charging stations installed by goEgoNetwork. Along with the two women bikers, Mahender Pratap Singh, SDM Kaza, inaugurated the charging station.
The Bharat AC and Dual Socket Type 2 chargers are ARAI and OCA certified and have Make-in-India certification. If you’re visiting then you can locate the charging station at Hotel Dayzor.
Soon goEgoNetwork will be setting up similar public charging stations throughout all prominent places in India, in line with the government’s ambition of becoming a 100 per cent EV nation by 2030. It also wants to encourage EV owners to enjoy seamless and anxiety-free long-distance travel!
