AC Cars, one of Britain’s oldest car manufacturers, is set to unveil the all-electric AC Ace Classic at the 2024 SEMA show in the USA, developed in collaboration with Tremec Electric GT. This model complements the Ace Bristol Classic electric, which was created at AC’s facility on the UK’s south coast before finishing in the US.

The Ace Classic retains the essence of the iconic AC Ace, a precursor to the Cobra, while integrating advanced electrification. It features Tremec’s eGT413 Modular EV platform, providing 225 kW (301 bhp) of power from a 72 kWh battery. Weighing just 1,134 kg, it offers a commendable power-to-weight ratio and a range of over 320 km per charge, alongside the convenience of DC fast charging.

Modern materials, such as carbon fibre for the bodywork, help achieve its low weight, while the interior maintains AC’s classic charm with hand-finished details. The design includes the open grille of later Ace models and the signature ‘smiling face’ grille of the Ace Bristol Classic. Assembly will involve a collaboration between the UK and North America, with each car receiving an official AC chassis number, confirming its heritage as part of the historic Ace lineage.

‘We are extremely excited to have Tremec as our electrified performance technologies partner for the new AC Ace Classic electric. Their expertise has been crucial in creating a car that both companies are immensely proud of,’ said David Conza, CEO of AC Cars.
