Kawasaki has updated the Vulcan S with a new BS6-compliant 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It produces 60 bhp@7500 rpm and 6.4 kgm@6600 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. There’s a slight drop in its torque figures, but apart from that it remains unchanged. The Vulcan S has a diamond-type frame with a conventional telescopic fork and an adjustable monoshock.
In this update, the Vulcan S also gets a new Metallic Flat Raw Graystone paint scheme, which is the sole option on offer at the moment. On the features front, the Vulcan S still sports a part-analogue part-digital LED instrument cluster, LED headlights and an underbody exhaust.
It also has an ERGO-FIT sizing system which helps the rider adjust the handlebar, seat and footpeg position to suit their height. Its 226 kg kerb weight and 14 litres of fuel tank capacity remains the same as well. The new BS6-compliant Vulcan S is priced at Rs 5.79 lakh, ex-showroom.
