BMW Motorrad has launched the all-new BMW F 450 GS in India AT ₹ 4.90 Lakh, marking its entry into the hotly contested mid-capacity adventure segment. Positioned as the brand’s most accessible GS model, it effectively replaces the G 310 GS and continues to be manufactured locally with TVS Motor Company.
Powering the F 450 GS is a new 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48 bhp and 4.3 kg-m of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor is tuned for strong low- and mid-range performance while meeting global A2 licence norms, giving it both usability and international appeal.
The motorcycle comes equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter, slipper clutch and an optional Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which reduces rider effort in stop-go traffic and off-road riding scenarios. Cycle parts include USD front forks and a rear monoshock, along with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, striking a balance between touring stability and trail capability.
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. Feature highlights include a 6.5-inch TFT display, multiple riding modes, traction control and full-LED lighting, all wrapped in BMW’s unmistakable GS design language with a beak-style front end.
The F 450 GS is expected to be offered in multiple trims, including a more off-road-focused GS Trophy variant featuring wire-spoke wheels.
The BMW F 450 GS takes on rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure, while offering the added appeal of a twin-cylinder engine and a more premium positioning in the segment.
