The Grand Tour is getting ready to hit the road again, but this time there is a completely new trio in the driving seat. Prime Video has released the official trailer for the revamped motoring show, confirming that James Engelsman, Thomas Holland and Francis Bourgeois will take over presenting duties. The new series premieres on September 4, 2026.
For fans of the original show, the biggest change is obvious. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have moved on after wrapping up their Grand Tour journey in 2024. The new hosts therefore have some seriously big shoes to fill, but the trailer suggests that the show’s core ingredients remain intact: fast cars, spectacular locations, ridiculous challenges and plenty of banter.
James Engelsman and Thomas Holland bring experience from the popular automotive YouTube channel Throttle House, while Francis Bourgeois is best known for his viral trainspotting videos and infectious enthusiasm for anything mechanical. Their different personalities could give the show a distinctly younger and more internet-savvy flavour.
The trailer teases plenty of automotive action, with the trio taking on challenges that look designed to retain the irreverent spirit of the original series. The upcoming six-part season will also take the presenters around the world, with filming taking place in locations including Colorado, California, Malaysia and Angola.
Importantly, this isn’t simply a reboot in name. Prime Video describes the new series as retaining the familiar blend of global adventures, incredible vehicles, epic stunts and strong opinions, while putting a fresh group of enthusiasts at the centre of the action.
The pressure will undoubtedly be high, particularly given the enormous legacy left by Clarkson, Hammond and May. But the new presenters aren’t trying to simply recreate the old formula. If the trailer is anything to go by, The Grand Tour is looking to start a new chapter while keeping its petrolhead heart firmly intact.
