The Apex Evo is Rynox’s top-of-the-line sport-riding jacket.
Is it any good?
It’s more than good — this is one of the best jackets from the brand. And it all starts from how it looks. One glance and you know it will look great when you are hooning around the town or going to your favourite weekend spot. The Apex comes with either red, hi-viz green or white accents on a black jacket. Then there are the TPU shoulder sliders that add to the visual appeal. But this jacket just doesn’t look the part, it feels solid, too.
The internal mesh lining doesn’t feel itchy, the neoprene liner on the collar doesn’t cause chafing and even the wrist cuffs have a soft feel to them. Then there are stretch panels on the shoulder blades and elbows that don’t hinder your movement when you are hanging off the bike. Plus, with CE-certified level 2 armour at the back, shoulders, chest and elbows, there’s no compromise on protection.
Interestingly, practicality hasn’t taken a hit, either. There are two external zippered pockets and one internal pocket. Breathability isn’t an issue, too. However, don’t expect the Apex to be as breezy as a regular mesh jacket… and that’s a good thing. But remember, this is a supersport-fit jacket, so it has a snug fit. And the only adjustment are the girth adjusters at the waist. Also, don’t take those removable elbow sliders too seriously.
Is it expensive?
At ₹ 15,750, it is the second most expensive jacket from the Indian brand. However, considering the Class-AA CE certification for the entire garment and the quality which is on par with some international brands, this is a steal.
