MPV market in India is booming with a new entrant every few months and this time, it’s the Japanese who have a new product to offer.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has unveiled its latest offering, the All-New Toyota Rumion, in the compact MPV segment. This versatile family car boasts of space, exceptional fuel efficiency, and a design that carries the Toyota design language. With the launch of the All-New Toyota Rumion, Toyota forays into the B-MPV segment, further solidifying its presence in the Indian automotive market.

While the product maybe a new entry in Toyota’s line-up, the Rumion is no alien to the Indian market, Rumion is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga that is very well known among Indians.

Toyota says that, the All-New Toyota Rumion has been designed to cater to the evolving needs of families seeking a blend of comfort, convenience, and performance. With its spacious interiors, technology, and safety features, the Rumion aims to provide a no-nonsense driving experience for Indian consumers.

At the heart of the Rumion is the well-known K-series 1.5-liter Petrol engine. This engine, equipped with Neo Drive (Integrated Starter Generator – ISG) technology and E-CNG technology, promises responsive performance and impressive fuel efficiency figures.

The anticipated fuel efficiency is set at approximately 20.51 km/l for the Petrol variant and an impressive 26.11 km/kg for the CNG variant, making it an economical choice for Indian families.

Dual AC

Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission and a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a driving experience that aligns with their preferences.

Features of the Rumion include, an advanced infotainment system, highlighted by the 17.78 cm Smartplay Cast Touchscreen audio unit. The integration of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay enhances the vehicle’s connectivity, allowing seamless smartphone integration. Toyota’s i-Connect technology takes convenience to the next level, enabling remote control of climate settings, lock/unlock functions, hazard lights, and headlights. Additionally, it provides safety and security features like auto collision notification, vehicle health monitoring, and more.

The vehicle features the Heartect Platform, which provides a strong and rigid structure for maximum occupant protection. Dual front and front seat side airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Engine immobilizer, ESP, Hill Hold assist, and ISO Fix Child seat anchorages further enhance the list of safety features of the Rumion.

Safety

The Rumion, will be launched in the coming days and will go against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as well as the Kia Carens.
