With the Tiago, Tata impressed both the critics and the market. And history repeats itself, as the saloon version of the Tiago, called Tata Tigor, makes its market debut today. What history, you may ask. Well, remember how the Indigo was launched, after having sorted early issues with the Indica it was based on? The Tiago, on the other hand, didn’t need any fixes per se, thankfully. Engine options include a 1.05-litre diesel and a 1.2-litre petrol unit. Unlike on the Tiago, there’s no AMT yet, but only the five-speed manual units. The features list is also shared with the Tiago hatchback, with optional bits like a touchscreen infotainment system also making it to the Tigor. ABS and up to dual frontal airbags are available, depending on the variant.

There are four variants to choose from, with prices starting from Rs 4.7 lakh for the base petrol and Rs 5.6 lakh for the base diesel variant. These are ex-showroom, Delhi prices.
