A new vehicle assembly line was commissioned today at Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s Manesar facility, furthering its production capacity. The new assembly line was integrated into the original plant-A among the three Maruti Suzuki manufacturing plants at Manesar. This is set to increase the manufacturing capacity of Manesar to 9 lakh vehicles per year.

The inauguration of the new assembly line marked the debut of the first Ertiga produced at the Manesar plant. The facility manufactures various best-selling vehicles including Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio.

Speaking at the commissioning of the new assembly line, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, reflected on the company’s commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative stating that the company’s drive remains to push further made in India vehicles with Maruthi Suzuki at the healm.
