We weren’t wrong to expect Lamborghini acting swiftly, in bringing the Urus SE to the Indian market. The Italian bull has confirmed that its first plug-in hybrid SUV is hitting Indian roads on August 9, and don’t be surprised if Lamborghini says its order catalogue is already full.

We’ll get to what’s under the hood in a short while, but can you believe the Urus SE gets not one, not two, but ten driving modes! Yup, The Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes are meant for road and track use, while Neve, Sabbia, and Terra are there for when you’re feeling adventurous. Lastly, it gets EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge modes.

If you want to sneak out of your neighbourhood at night without waking up your neighbours, the EV Drive mode in the Urus SE gives you 60 km of range, and you can also speed up to 130 kph in the mentioned drive mode.

Now to the interesting stuff; the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine teams up with an electric motor housed within the 8-speed automatic transmission, which results in an overall 800 bhp and 96.91 kgm of torque. 3.4 seconds is what it takes to reach triple digits, and it maxes out at 312 kph.

The interiors of the Urus SE retain the ‘pilot’ design DNA

There are cosmetic updates as well, beginning with a redesigned hood, grille, bumpers, and a tailgate as well with a new diffuser and spoiler. Inside, the Urus SE features a larger 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment on offer, sharing its software and UI with the Revuelto.

Don’t be surprised if the Lamborghini Urus SE carries a price tag of around Rs 4.80 crore, or possibly even more.
