Have you always wanted a Jeep Compass in automatic guise, but without 4×4 on offer? Well, Jeep India seems to be listening to all of you, and here comes the Jeep Compass 2WD Automatic. Launched at a price of Rs 23.99 lakh, the Jeep Compass 2WD Automatic will be available from new Longitude and Longitude Plus variants onwards to the top-end Model S variant. The base Sport variant of the Compass now sees a price drop as well, as it can now be had from Rs 20.49 lakh onwards (ex-showroom), as opposed to the earlier price tag of Rs 21.73 lakh.

The Jeep Compass 2WD Automatic is essentially a Compass without 4×4, but with the nine-speed automatic transmission that was limited to higher variants with 4×4. The Jeep Compass 2WD Automatic also gets some standard kit in the Longitude and Longitude Plus variants such as a panoramic sunroof and connected car technology. Engine start / stop is offered as standard across the Compass lineup.

Changes to the design include a revised grille and new alloy wheels. The Jeep Compass also sees the addition of a new BlackShark trim based on the Limited variant, which receives an all-black interior with red inserts, along with gloss black inserts on the grille, lower front bumper, and side cladding. However, under the hood, the Compass retains the same 2-litre turbo diesel engine, producing 167 bhp and 35.6 kgm of torque.
