The 2024 Mini Cooper made its global debut not too long ago, and while initially only the electric version was showcased, the British car maker followed it up with a combustion-engined version as well. Of course, the question of a JCW version was always on our minds, which has now been answered by Mini.

The 24 Hours Nurburgring race will be held between May 30 to June 2, 2024, and that’s when the 2024 Mini Cooper JCW will be showcased. Mini has rolled out pictures of the petrol-powered John Cooper Works, wearing a bespoke camouflage that pays homage to the iconic red and white color schemes used for classic Minis in motorsports in the 1960s. The car maker also says that the 2024 Mini John Cooper Works will be available in both petrol and electric versions. Interestingly, Mini has been testing an electric John Cooper Works since 2020, having also showcased the JCW EV concept back then.

Mini has not given out any further details about the 2024 John Cooper Works. However, we can expect it to feature the 2.0-litre petrol from the Cooper S but massaged to produce more power and torque. As for the EV, we can expect it to feature the same 54.2 kWh battery pack, but with greater output figures than the SE’s 308.7 bhp and 50.3 kgm of torque.
