Kia Motors has officially unveiled the 2024 Kia Carnival in India ahead of its scheduled launch on October 3, revealing key specifications, features, and design details. The Carnival will be available in two variants: Limousine and Limousine Plus. Here’s a breakdown of the information that’s been made available so far.

The 2024 Carnival will be offered in two trims — Limousine and Limousine Plus. The Plus variant comes with additional features, including rain-sensing wipers, a puddle lamp, a smart power tailgate, LED rear fog lamps, and chrome-plated skid plates. Inside, it adds conveniences like an 11-inch head-up display, a 12-speaker BOSE premium sound system, and wireless charging. The second-row seats in the Limousine Plus come with ventilation, heating, and powered adjustments for additional comfort.

The 2024 Kia Carnival will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 193 PS and 44.96 kgm of torque, the same as its predecessor. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and is available in a 2WD configuration. The Carnival also offers four driving modes — Eco, Normal, Sport, and Smart — to adjust performance based on different driving conditions.

The new Kia Carnival is designed to have a larger road presence due to its significant size. The vehicle measures 5155 mm in length and 1995 mm in width, which makes it bigger than the Toyota Vellfire, placing it among the larger MPVs on the market. Exterior highlights include ice cube LED projector headlamps, star map LED DRLs, a distinct Kia family tiger nose grille, dual electric sunroofs, and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Additional design elements include body-coloured door handles with chrome accents, a shark fin antenna, and hidden rear wipers. Colour options will include Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl, while interior themes will differ between the two trims: the Limousine variant offers a Navy and Misty Grey theme, and the Limousine Plus variant features a Tuscan and Umber theme.

The 2024 Kia Carnival is equipped with a number of tech-focused features, including dual 12.3-inch displays, Kia Connect with over-the-air system updates, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes an 8-speaker sound system, electrically sliding doors, power-adjustable driver and co-passenger seats, captain seats with sliding and reclining functionality, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The MPV also comes with 3-zone automatic climate control for enhanced cabin comfort.

In terms of safety, the Carnival will feature ADAS Level 2, which includes 23 advanced driver assistance features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. The vehicle will also come with eight airbags, vehicle stability management (VSM), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control, and parking sensors on both the front and rear.

The new-generation Kia Carnival will be imported into India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which will likely lead to a higher price point. The estimates suggest that the Carnival will be priced around INR 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with other premium MPVs such as the Toyota Innova Hycross and the Maruti Invicto, and may also be considered a more affordable alternative to models like the Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM.

Kia’s new-generation Carnival is positioned as a luxury MPV, offering a larger size, a powerful diesel engine, and advanced safety and convenience features. With its size and feature set, the Carnival is likely to attract buyers looking for a spacious and well-equipped family vehicle. The official launch and further details are expected on October 3, which will provide additional clarity on its final pricing and availability.
