Classic Legends Pvt Ltd, the group which owns BSA, Jawa, and Yezdi brands, has launched not one but two Scrambler motorcycles. The updated Yezdi Scrambler 350 has been launched at Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), while the brand new BSA Scrambler 650 has been launched at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated Yezdi Scrambler 350 now comes with a refreshed 334 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that has been tuned to produce a slight bump in power – 29.5 bhp and 3.05 kgm. Yezdi also claims a fuel efficiency upwards of 30 kpl. It gets a 12.5 litre fuel tank, though.
The Scrambler 350 comes with a telescopic front suspension and a twin-shock suspension at the rear. It has a tall seat height at 813 mm, and the 174 kg kerb weight makes it one of the lightest motorcycles in its segment. At the front is a 100/90-R19 wheel, while the rear is a 140/70-R17 wheel. The front has a 320 mm disc, while the 240 mm disc. It also gets a slip and assist clutch, spoke wheels and a rear tyre hugger.
It can be bought in four colour options: Legacy Black, Rouge Red, OG Yellow, and Rally Blue. The black starts at Rs 2 lakh, while the Red and Yellow are priced at Rs 2.06 lakh, and the Blue is the costliest at Rs 2.09 lakh.
The new BSA Scrambler 650 uses the same engine as the Gold Star 650 (a 652 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit) with 44 bhp and 5.60 kgm of torque. Like the Gold Star, the Scrambler also has the largest single-cylinder engine available on a motorcycle in India.
It features a 41 mm gaitered front fork and dual shock absorbers, with pre-load adjustability. At the front is a 110/80-R19 wheel with a 320 mm disc and a two-piston calliper, while at the back, it gets a 150/70-R17 wheel with a 255 mm disc. The wheelbase of the Scrambler 650 measures 1465 mm, and it gets a tall 820 mm seat height.
The Scrambler 650 can be had in three colours: Raven Black, Victor Yellow, and Thunder Grey. The Black is the most affordable at Rs 3.25 lakh, while the Yellow and Grey cost Rs 3.33 lakh and Rs 3.41 lakh, respectively.
