Cyclone, a Chinese bikemaker under the wing of the Zongshen group, has pulled the veils off its latest creation: the RC 600 Centennial Legend edition. Limited to just 100 units, the bike is expected to be on sale in its home country only.
The bike pays homage to the MotoGP bikes, and one look at it is all that takes to understand that Cyclone is not kidding. The extreme winglets at the front can put most road-legal litre-class bikes to shame. In fact, though the LED DRL resembles the Aprilia RS 660, the winglets take heavy inspiration from the BMW M 1000 RR.
But under all that fancy fairing is a 550cc twin-cylinder engine producing 59 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 5.5 kgm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It features a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch and can achieve speeds of up to 180 kph.
The single disc at the front, non-adjustable USD fork and monoshock don’t do much justice to the design, either. However, the slicks do show its serious intent. Plus, there’s a TFT display on offer to show all your race stats. There’s no word on electronics, though, except for a dual-channel ABS.
