KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd (KVMPL) has launched two new brands in India, Brixton Motorcycles and VLF (Velocifero), with a manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the Brixton motorcycles, namely the Crossfire 500 X, Crossfire 500 XC, Cromwell 1200, and Cromwell 1200 X. The Crossfire range shares a 486cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine with power figures of 47.19 bhp and 4.38 kgm of torque. The bikes are priced at Rs 4.74 lakh for the 500 X and Rs 5.19 lakh for the 500 XC (both ex-showroom). The Cromwell range gets a 1222cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with figures of 81.8 bhp and 4.38 kgm of torque. Priced at Rs 7.84 lakh for the 1200 and Rs 9.10 lakh for the 1200 X (both ex-showroom), deliveries for all the motorcycles are set to start from January 2025 onwards.

The VLF e-scooter, featuring shapes and bodywork characteristic of Italian aesthetics, is powered by a 2.1 kW hub motor, offering a claimed range of 130 km. The e-scooter, priced at Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom), will be available through MotoHaus, with the first retail outlet opening in Kolhapur. All the vehicles are to be assembled locally from CKD kits at the plant in Kolhapur, marking the beginning of phase one of KVMPL’s expansions. This phase will see the bikes and e-scooters offered through MotoHaus outlets across cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, and more.

In the future, the company also plans to introduce a third Italian brand and its very own electric two-wheeler brand, too. Phase two is said to involve the development of a design and manufacturing centre in Kolhapur, with a target production capacity of 25,000 units annually. This phase will also focus on building a robust, localised supply chain as per KVMPL. Further investments from Brixton Motorcycles (Austria) and VLF are expected to come in as the project expands.
