Ducati has launched the 2022 Panigale V4 range in India. The superbike is available in three variants, the V4, V4 S and V4 SP2, with prices starting at Rs 26.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Panigale V4 2022 represents the last step in the characteristic path of the Borgo Panigale sports bikes.
Ducati has also made some significant changes to the aerodynamics of the Panigale V4. The bike gets twin LED headlamps with winglets on either side. These aero blades have been redesigned and Ducati claims they generate 37 kg of downforce at 300 kph. The bike also gets a few ergonomic tweaks, new electronics and revisions to the engine and chassis.
Powering the Panigale V4 is a 1103cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine, combined with a new silencer and new oil pump. This mill makes 212.5 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 12.6 kgm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike now features four power modes – Full, High, Medium and Low.
The Panigale V4 rides on 43 mm adjustable Showa BPF front forks and an adjustable Sachs mono-shock at the rear. The S and SP2 variants get electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension, while braking is handled by twin 330-mm discs at the front and a single 245-mm disc at the rear.
The SP2 variant is available in Ducati’s Winter Test Livery, forged Magnesium wheels, carbon fibre wings, heel guards and front fender and STM-EVO SBK nine-disc dry clutch. The Panigale V4 SP2 also gets a powerful braking system with Brembo Stylema front braking callipers, racing foot pegs and a host of other carbon components.
