Kia India has officially launched the all-electric Syros EV in the country, marking the brand’s second locally manufactured electric vehicle after the Carens Clavis EV. The new electric SUV is priced from Rs. 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level variant equipped with a 42kWh battery pack, while prices rise to Rs. 19.99 lakh for the range-topping X-Line Extended Range model. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on 30 July.
Visually, the Syros EV retains much of the design language seen on its internal combustion counterpart, ensuring a familiar appearance while incorporating several EV-specific updates. The front end features a closed-off Digital Tiger Face grille, complemented by redesigned bumpers, Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map lighting elements, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and flush-fitting door handles. Buyers can choose from nine exterior colour options, including an exclusive Matte Graphite finish available only on the flagship X-Line variant.
Inside, the Syros EV offers a premium cabin packed with technology and comfort features. Taking centre stage is Kia’s 30-inch Trinity Display, which seamlessly integrates the digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen, and climate control interface. The SUV also comes equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Harman Kardon eight-speaker sound system, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and a powered driver’s seat. Adding to practicality is a 16-litre front trunk, or frunk, for additional storage.

Powering the Syros EV are two battery pack options. The standard 42kWh unit delivers a claimed driving range of 443km, while the larger 51.4kWh battery extends the range to an impressive 526km on a single charge. According to Kia, this makes the Syros EV the first vehicle in its segment to offer more than 500km of certified range. The Extended Range version can accelerate from 0-100kph in a claimed 8.1 seconds, while DC fast charging support allows the battery to be replenished from 10 to 80 per cent in just 39 minutes using a 100kW charger.
Safety is another key highlight, with the Syros EV featuring six airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, front, rear and side parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It also benefits from a Level 2 ADAS suite offering 16 autonomous driving functions.
To further strengthen its EV proposition, Kia is offering a 15-year unlimited-kilometre battery warranty for the first owner, an assured buyback programme with up to 80 per cent resale value after three years, Battery-as-a-Service financing options, and access to the K-Charge network comprising more than 20,300 charging points across India.
