The Guerrilla arrived just at the right time, and what better way to induct the motorcycle than with the Motoring World Slush Fest? Sure, leading up to the occasion, it took up the daily commute duties, and was also introduced to Mumbai traffic but it didn’t seem too keen on shuffling between first and second gear. It was raring to go and put on some highway miles and get some dirt on its tyres, and I was just as happy to oblige.

We rode it to Pro Dirt Adventure in Pune where the real fun started. Being nice and compact (although it is still heavy) it managed to show off how nimble it was. The Sherpa engine seemed to shine with the configuration of the Guerrilla and it managed to surprise us at the most unexpected moments like the many jumps it flew over and the water crossing. I would say that it has been living up to its name, a truly spontaneous character.

But what it does share with its ADV sibling, the Himalayan, apart from the engine and a lot of other components, is the switchgear, and that was a letdown as expected. The toggle tends to stop working at times, and at times it goes berserk with a mind of its own. Traction is also a bit of an issue, with the tyres being weirdly unpredictable. I’d be happy to swap them out for a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs, but let’s wait a little while and see.
