We love Porsches and we also love watches. When the two elements are combined, we’re almost unbearably excited. The French watch firm Roue (meaning ‘wheel’) specialises in motorsport-inspired watches, and their timepieces are simply gorgeous (and surprisingly affordable). We’re particularly taken with the TPS, a tribute to the Porsche 910 race car that won the Nürburgring 1000 in 1967 after several years of trying to take an overall victory. The homage to the 910 is in the form of an embossed car front drawing, on the screw case-back.
The TPS comes in five variants, limited to 1000 pieces each and individually numbered. The black and orange model is called TPS One, while the Panda, with a vertically brushed dial is the TPS Two. A blue and yellow model is theTPS Three, the TPS Four has a black and yellow theme and the TPS Five rounds things off with a sunburst and brushed silver with a blue bezel. These fantastic 40mm watches are powered by Seiko’s VK63 meca-quartz movement, which combines the reliability and accuracy of quartz with the characteristics of a mechanical chronograph, with a dry click and instant reset. All have three-layer dial construction with Super-Luminova, and they all come with interchangeable leather and silicone straps. At $290 (roughly Rs 22,000, without duties and shipping), we think these are achingly beautiful, and a steal.
