Bajaj has launched a new Pulsar, the N250SS, which sits above the standard N250 in the Pulsar line-up. It is priced at Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is around Rs 17,000 more expensive than the standard N250.

The N250SS makes marginally more power than the regular N250, with 24.6 bhp and 22 Nm of torque, a gain of 0.5 bhp and 0.5 Nm over the N250. The additional power is thanks to a 4-valve engine. It also gets a new 6-speed gearbox with a quickshifter, which should improve highway cruising capabilities and help the bike feel sportier.

The new Pulsar also comes with new features like a 5-inch TFT console with Google Maps mirroring, an electronic throttle body, ride modes, a USB-C port, a hazard switch and adjustable levers.

The underpinnings of the N250SS remain the same as the standard N250, with 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. It gets upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm disk upfront and a 240mm rear disk.

The design of the N250SS is also very similar to the N250, with the same projector and DRL setup. While the body panels remain the same as the N250, the N250SS gets new graphics and two new colours. It is now available in Atlantic Blue, Fiery Red Orange, Brooklyn Black and Pearl White metallic, with the first two being the new colours on offer. The N250SS will compete with the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Hero Xtreme 250R.
