Six months after Honda updated the Amaze, it was time to bring the Brio up to date with the same changes. So like the Amaze, the Brio gets theĀ front bumper redesigned with bigger surrounds for fog lamps, a matte black finish for the front grille, and subtle changes to the design of the tail lamps.
The more substantial change, like the Amaze, is on the inside, with an all-new design for the dashboard.
Automatic climate control is standard on the all the variants, but only the top variants get the 2-DIN integrated audio system.
Unlike the Amaze, the Brio does not get the new instrument binnacle design with the three pods but sticks to the older design.
Also, unlike the Amaze, the automatic gearbox option is the old five-speed torque convertor, and not the CVT gearbox from the Amaze. There are no changes to the engine too, with the 1.2-litre i-VTEC producing 87 bhp and 11.11 kgm as before.
The new Brio is available in three trim levels, E, S and VX, with the automatic only available in the VX trim and is priced at Rs 6.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The VX variant is the only one which gets dual airbags and ABS with EBD, with VX manual priced at Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The difference between this and the S variant is just Rs 75,000, which makes upgrading to the top variant with its added features and safety equipment well worth the price.
