The Audi RS 5 Coupe possibly has the most aggressive-looking front-end design among the cars from Ingolstadt. It’s also hugely capable, with its GT ability, quattro AWD, plush-yet-purpose-built interior, and the bi-turbo engine. And the best part is that it’s coming to India this month.

Audi India will launch the 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupe in India at an event in Bangalore/Bengaluru on April 11, 2018. The car will join the other performance-orientated models in the Indian line up, including what’s easily one of the best supercars to live with, the Audi R8 V10 Plus.

Back to the RS 5 Coupe. It gets a 2.9-litre TFSI bi-turbo V6 engine that makes 444 bhp and 61.22 kgm. Apart from the safety net of computer-controlled assists, there’s the venerable quattro system (40:60) mated to the 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. The car takes just 3.9 seconds to reach 100 kph from a standstill, exhales a lowly 197 gram of CO2 per km, and boasts a limited top speed of 250 kph.

It’s also about 60 kilos lighter than before, and a bit longer, too. And as we’ve seen with the recent Audis, the company offers Sonoma green metallic paint as an option on the RS 5 Coupe. The India-spec options list, prices, and standard spec will be known at the day of the launch.
