Audi India has launched a petrol-powered variant of the new Audi Q5. Called the Audi Q5 45 TFSI, it’s also the most powerful and fastest Q5 yet, further claims the company. That is of course not counting the more focussed Audi SQ5. It’s priced at Rs 55.27 lakh and is now available at all Audi dealerships across the country.
The 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine makes 248 bhp, and boasts some decent performance claims, too. According to Audi, the 0-100 kph is possible in 6.3 seconds while the top speed is 237 kph. It also gets quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed gearbox. The drive select system also gets a new off-road mode, while adaptive suspension is standard, too.
Like the rest of the Audis (and the Q5 diesel), the list of features includes things like a panoramic sunroof, good-looking alloys (18-inch wheels here), the very cool Audi Virtual Cockpit display, an 8.3-inch infotainment unit — complete with connectivity suites like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10 GB onboard space. There’s also the facility to charge your wireless charging enabled phone without any wires inside the car.
Audi India’s Head, Rahil Ansari said, “We received over 500 bookings for the all-new Audi Q5 TDI model within a month of its launch in India, a testimony to its leadership position in the segment. The Audi Q5 is one of the bestselling models in its class in India and with the launch of its petrol avatar, the Audi Q5 will further strengthen its foothold in the Indian market. With more power, a whole new design language, and a host of new infotainment and innovative features, the new Audi Q5 45 TFSI is the best vehicle available for our customers who want to enjoy driving whether it is on or off the road. In line with our petrol strategy we clearly want to increase the contribution of petrol variants in our total sales and with the launch of the Audi Q5 45 TFSI, our entire Q range is now available with petrol options. 2018 is the year of Audi progression and I am delighted to also showcase the soon-to-be-launched Design Edition of the Audi Q7 and the Q3. This is quattro power at its best.”
