More from Motoring

A fleet of vintage and classic automobiles is set to take on the mountains once again as Yokohama India partners with The Classic Himalayan Drive 2025 — a 10-day motoring expedition that revives the glory of the legendary Himalayan Rallies from the 1980s.

The event, which kicks off on November 2, will see over 100 motoring enthusiasts from India and abroad traverse through some of North India’s most scenic and demanding terrains. The route will cover destinations such as Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Manali — blending breathtaking landscapes with the thrill of endurance driving and the nostalgia of vintage motoring.

Yokohama’s association with the event reinforces its commitment to automotive excellence and adventure. As part of the partnership, the company will host a special pit stop at Yokohama Club Network – Batra Tyres, Chandigarh, on November 9. The facility will offer participants tyre health checks, wheel alignment, and balancing services to ensure every classic car is road-ready for the mountain journey. Visitors to the venue will also get a rare opportunity to view these timeless machines up close.

The lineup of vehicles includes some true automotive icons — from the 1958 Mercedes 180A and 1970 Ford Mustang to the 2000 Mini Cooper, Lexus 470, Jaguar XK8, and Mercedes 230 CE. Participants are expected from India, the UK, Europe, and Sri Lanka, bringing together a diverse community of classic car aficionados.

Speaking about the partnership, Gaurav Mahajan, Head of Marketing, Yokohama India, said, “The Classic Himalayan Drive is more than a motoring event — it’s a celebration of engineering excellence, endurance, and the pure passion for driving. This partnership reflects Yokohama’s philosophy of empowering enthusiasts to get the most out of their motoring journeys.”

The Classic Himalayan Drive 2025 promises to be a spectacular celebration of automotive heritage and adventure, combining the elegance of classic machines with the rugged beauty of the Himalayas — a true ode to the golden age of motoring.
