It seems like a lot of people were waiting for this very moment, and the results are finally out! Those of you who were on the sidelines about buying a Verna can now rest assured, as the 2023 Hyundai Verna is now among the safest cars in India, scoring a full-five stars at the latest GNCAP tests. With this, the Verna now joins the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus as among the safest cars in its segment.

The 2023 Hyundai Verna was tested in its base variant, which gets six airbags and ABS as standard. A closer look reveals that the base Verna scored 28.18 points out of of 34.00 in adult occupant safety, and 42.00 points out of 49.00 in child occupant safety. However, the structure of the Verna has been rated as ‘unstable’. Apart from this, the Hyundai Verna also offers a wide range of safety features, which includes level two ADAS functions, vehicle stability management, ESC, hill-start assist, front parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system among others.

That’s not all — the Korean carmaker has also announced it now offers six airbags as standard across its entire lineup, barring the Grand i10 Nios and the Aura, which continue to receive four airbags. Meanwhile ADAS features are now available in five of its models, which includes the Ioniq 5, Tucson, Alcazar, Verna, and more recently the Venue. Hyundai has also announced it will be sending three of its models for the newly-formed Bharat NCAP safety tests, and that we will be hearing from them soon enough.
