What is it?
It’s called the 100% Waterproof Tail/Seat Bag (6L) which earns Viaterra zero points for imaginative nomenclature but, amazingly, it does what it promises.
Is it any good?
It’s very, very good. Constructed with a triple-layer waterproof fabric and built using ultrasonic seam welding, this tail/seat bag offers 6 litres of properly dry storage for lots of ride essentials.
We’ve got one securely strapped to Ruman’s KTM 390 Enduro R — and it’s a perfect fit, too — and he’s so far been on several of his quick road trips with a lot crammed in. Yes, 6 litres may not sound like all that much but it’s enough to carry a spare helmet visor, a book, a tool kit, energy bars, a powerbank and a phone and even a bit of light clothing for a weekend — all you need for a weekend ride, eh? There’s a zippered internal mesh pocket too, which is great for keys, earphones, basic toiletries and so on. The bag also offers a separator that holds stuff in place even through an off-road ride, and there’s an EBC external net that’s a great place to stow rain gear. Best of all — you can hose it down during a bike wash, completely assured it’ll keep stuff absolutely dry.
