What is it?

The Diablo pants is the first pair of riding pants developed by Reise Moto in collaboration with Spidi.

Is it any good?

It is okay to look at it and wonder if these are actually riding pants. This kind of heavy use of mesh, Lycra and an elasticated waistband is not common, but these pants are CE A-certified so they should work just fine. Plus, these pants flaunt CE Level 2 armour at the knee and a Level 1 hip protector, both provided by Warrior Tech, so these are flexible, well-vented and thin. 3ut them on and you’ll realise that the fi t is not typical, either. The skinny-fit-style tapered bottom doesn’t look very nice unless, of course, you have shapely legs. Furthermore, there is no buckle to secure the pants, and all you have to rely on is the velcro loop. And the absence of a layer to cover the zip makes it even weirder. Lastly, the pocket’s placement is a bit off, and the contents in it tend to go either under the knee or between the armour and the knee which gets uncomfortable when riding.

Being its first product, Reise Moto has tried to develop something that is not aimed at a particular style of riders, but something that could be useful for anyone. The ventilation and breathability is superb, which means these can be perfect for hot weather. And being lightweight and stretchy, these aren’t uncomfortable if you intend to wear them for long days, either.

How much?

At Rs. 7,999, these are quite affordable. However, the styling and the fit may not be suited for everyone. But if these fi t you well, currently these are probably the best pair of pants that you buy for commutes and rides in the sweltering heat.
