What is it?
The G1 is a pair of smart glasses that take a minimalist approach in a market that’s all about cramming in more tech. Why is it cool? Even Realities’ G1 doesn’t have a microphone or a camera unlike most smart glasses out there; instead, it only has a display and a microphone.
The advantage?
Less weight and, more importantly, the glasses do not become another fancy gadget you are addicted to, but be a means to stay connected. Instead of only showing phone notifications, the G1 also features navigation, translation and, heck, you can even use it as a teleprompter. To check notifications, all you have to do is glance up to a level that you set, and the 640 x 200-pixel screen turns on. With its case, you can juice up the glasses 2.5 times.
Is it expensive?
At $ 599 or ₹ 51,923, this is certainly an expensive purchase. And if you need prescription glasses, the company will charge $ 150 more and an additional $ 100 for clip-on shades.
