This weekend, our Jimny-only group decided to take on the latest ridgeline trail in the Western Ghats, just outside Pune. This mountain windmill trail is called the Varsubai Mandir trail and is about 50 km north-west of Pune City. After a week of cruising through city traffic, we were all itching to put our Jimnys to the test. The recent rains had turned this trail into a muddy, slushy mess — exactly what we were looking for. The trails are usually dangerous and exciting, involving climbing up some extremely technical ruts and inclines that are almost impossible to climb even on foot. But the Jimny with its 4×4 tech is ready to take on any challenge head-on.

As we approached the steep, slippery inclines, it was clear this was going to be a real test The terrain was unpredictable, with deep puddles and loose rocks. But the Jimnys handled it like pros. We engaged 4×4 and powered through the mud, feeling the tyres dig into the slush as we climbed. Each ascent felt like a victory, and the confidence these little beasts gave us was unmatched.

What we love most about our Jimnys is their versatility. Monday through Friday, they’re our go-to city cars, nimble enough for Pune’s tight streets and traffic. But on weekends, they transform into true off-road warriors, ready to take on trails like this. It’s hard to believe that the same car we drive to work tomorrow is the one that helped us conquer these rugged hills today. By the end of the day, the trail had left our Jimnys covered in mud and our spirits high. It was the perfect weekend adventure, and the Ghats never disappoint!
