What began as a gathering of seven individuals enjoying off-roading in their Mahindra Thars over the weekends has now blossomed into a thriving adventure and expedition club for enthusiasts known as TCOG Adventures and Expedition. The Thar Club of Gujarat was established in 2022, and it currently boasts 280 members located throughout the state of Gujarat.
Earlier this year, on Republic Day, members of TCOG undertook a 4×4 Desert Derby. Over the course of two days, participants traversed numerous desert trails and dunes. This marked the club’s fourth expedition under its banner. The expedition commenced from Dechu in Rajasthan, navigating across the desert through Pokhran, Kheotali, and Kheechan, followed by a thrilling dune bashing
session at Osian.
In today’s scenario, where a significant portion of the youth is absorbed in social media or binge-watching, a group of 30 off-road enthusiasts, accompanied by their families, embarked on a unique and adventurous desert drive, far from the chaotic and congested city roads. It was indeed an experience that will remain etched in the memories of those who participated.
