Just over eight months ago, Volkswagen set a national record in its 24-hour endurance drive, with the Virtus covering just over 4600 km in 24 hours. Subsequently, Virtus has achieved sales of over 50,000 units in just over two years.
Interested in the Virtus? Here are the numbers: you can choose between a 1.0-litre TSI engine, producing 113 bhp and 18.2 kgm of torque. This engine is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, there is the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, delivering 148 bhp and 25.5 kgm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
What are the figures for Virtus this year alone? over 17,000. That is a win for the Volkswagen Virtus. How about the rest of the German lineup in India?
Volkswagen has stated that the end of Q3, 2024 will see them having sold over 6.5 lakh domestic vehicles which nearly accounts for 18 per cent of total cars sold over the last three years.
Volkswagen, earlier this month had also released their latest iteration in the form of the Virtus GT Line and the Virtus GT Plus Sport. For more details on that, click here.
