Toyota has expanded the Fortuner lineup with the launch of the Fortuner GR-S (Gazoo Racing Sport) in India. The SUV is available in a diesel 4×4 AT variant priced at Rs 48.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
In comparison to the regular model, the Fortuner GR-S gets a few cosmetic changes. These include a new sporty body kit and a dual-tone radiator grille with GR badges and black alloy wheels. In addition, other details include quad-LED headlamps, LED fog lights and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs.
Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a new GR-specific instrument cluster, leather-wrapped steering and seats. It comes with two-zone automatic climate control and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also comes with seven airbags, a JBL sound system, aluminium pedals, a powered tailgate and three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport.
The Fortuner GR-S retains the 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine from the regular Fortuner that makes 201 bhp and 50.98 kgm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. The SUV also has a GR sport-tuned suspension setup.
While a majority of the difference is cosmetic, the Fortuner GR-S is priced Rs 3.8 lakh above the Fortuner Legender. The Fortuner GR-S will be available in two colour options, that is Attitude Black and White Pearl Crystal Shine.
