As Kia gears up to put the 4th-generation Carnival into production, we get a glimpse at its interior for the first time. The new interior has acres of space, just like before, but it also feels futuristic with the level of technology on offer. The interior design was based on Kia’s ‘Spatial Design’ concept and is all set to become the benchmark for premium minivans.
With a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, the new Carnival will have plenty of information to share on the go. There are also enough physical buttons to operate the infotainment system and climate control so you don’t get distracted. The standard transmission shifter is replaced by a shift-by-wire dial, liberating yet more space on the dash. Just like the outgoing generation, it will come with plenty of cubbies to store knick knacks.
The new Carnival has grown by 40 mm in overall length, measuring 5155 mm now, thanks to a longer rear overhang. The passengers in the 3rd row will benefit from that extra length. Luggage space, too, is better for it. Seeing how the Carnival is brought in as a completely built unit, we’re hoping Kia will bring this version to India sooner rather than later.
