Renault India’s 17-year journey hasn’t been without its fair share of ups and downs. Having begun its journey through a joint venture with Mahindra, the French car maker ultimately cut ties and set off on its own. Today, Renault India has announced its new Renaulution strategy, as part of which, it will be launching five new cars in the next three years, along with implementing a new customer experience initiative called DISHA, rolling out a new used car programme called Renew, and adopting the global brand identity. This is in addition to the Rs 300 crore investment that was announced for Renault’s four key international hubs outside of Europe, which includes India.
The five new models coming to India as part of the Renaulution strategy will include not just entirely new models, but also next-generation models of the Triber and Kiger. Renault hasn’t exactly confirmed which new models will be arriving here, but we can expect one of them to be the new-generation Duster that was unveiled globally not too long ago.
Along with the Renaulution strategy, the French car maker has also tweaked its existing lineup, adding a set of new features while further launching five new variants. Starting with the 2024 Renault Kwid, now available from Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. There’s good news for those looking for the convenience and ease of an automatic transmission, as Renault has introduced a new RXL (O) Easy-R AMT variant, priced at Rs 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kwid now also gets an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system from the RXL (O) variant, which is one step above the base RXE variant. The Kwid Climber variant now receives three new dual-tone paint schemes in addition to the existing two that were already present. A rear seatbelt reminder is now standard across all variants.
The 2024 Renault Triber can now be had with a new Stealth Black paint scheme, and additions to the equipment list include a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, a driver armrest, a reversing camera and rear wiper (RXT), along with dedicated controls for the second and third row A/C, and a PM2.5 air filter on the RXL variant. Prices for the 2024 Triber range between Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 8.74 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
The 2024 Renault Kiger receives tweaks to its equipment list as well; climate control and auto-fold ORVMs can now be had on the RXT (O) variant, which is a step-lower than the range-topping RXZ. The RXL variant can now also be had with the AMT gearbox, paired with the non-turbo powertrain, making the automatic transmission Kiger more accessible to a wider range of customers. Cruise control is a new feature that can be had on the range-topping RXZ variant. Prices for the 2024 Kiger start from Rs 5.99 lakh, and they go all the way up to Rs 10.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
