The long wait is over! The Mini Cooper SE’s finally launched in India for Rs 47.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Mind you, the Mini Cooper SE is just as powerful as its ICE counterpart, featuring a 32.6-kWh battery pack, which delivers a chunky 182 bhp from a single electric motor. That allows the e-Mini to do the 0-100-kph sprint in 7.3 seconds. On a full charge, the Mini has a driving range of 270 km.

Besides this, the Mini’s battery can be quickly charged up to 80 per cent as well. If you use the 50-kW DC charger, it takes 36 minutes, whereas if you use an 11-kW AC charger or a 2.3-kW AC charger, it takes 2 hours 30 minutes or 9 hours 43 minutes respectively.

To spot the Mini SE, all you have to look for is details like the yellow painted S logo, mirror caps and funky 17-inch power spoke alloy wheels outlined in yellow, among other things. Inside, it is equipped with features like an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with only Apple CarPlay support, Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System, wireless charging, to name a few.

The Mini Cooper SE that you see here is specced in White Silver colour, but you can choose from Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey and British Racing Green. The British Racing Green sounds tempting, doesn’t it? Well, you can book one online, but you’ll have to wait until March for the second phase of bookings to reopen. As for us, we’re itching to drive it!
