British carmaker Mini has just revealed the Mini Aceman — an all-electric crossover, which is positioned between Mini Cooper and Mini Countryman. The Aceman is set to be offered in two variants — Aceman E and Aceman SE, and in three trims, namely Classic, Exclusive & Sport.
The Aceman E will come with a 42.5 kWh battery paired to a 135 kW motor, producing 29.57 kgm of torque. Mini claims a 0-100 kph time of 7.9 seconds for the Aceman E. The top speed of the Aceman E is 159 kph and it comes with a claimed WLTP range of 309 kilometres.
The sportier SE will come equipped with a bigger 54.2 kWh battery and a 160 kW motor, producing a peak torque of 33.65 kgm. This variant undercuts the Aceman E’s 0-100 kph time by 0.8 seconds! The Aceman SE also has a higher top speed of 169 kph and a claimed WLTP range of 405 km.
The silhouette is unmistakably Mini-like, but it now gets angular headlights, coupled with an octagonal grille. You can get the grille finished in either Vibrant Silver or high-gloss Jet Black finish. The lights are also available with an optional set of three switchable light signatures. The Aceman gets flush door handles and angular wheel arches as well.
Talking about the interiors, the Mini Aceman gets a 9.4-inch circular touchscreen in the centre. You can also spot a couple of switches and dials besides the large screen, although the climate control is integrated into the touchscreen only. The steering wheel is heated and there’s an optional glass roof on offer too. As Mini has decided to do away with conventional leather, the dashboard and door trims in the Aceman feature a recycled polyster textile material. The steering wheel and seats also come wrapped with Vescin, a vegan leather.
There’s a boot space of 300 litres, which can be expanded to 1,005 litres when the seats are folded flat. The Aceman also features four surround view cameras in addition to 12 sensors, enabling easy parking. What’s interesting is that you can also park your Mini using your smartphone!
There’s a bunch of options available to customise your Mini Aceman, such as a Harman Kardon surround sound system, the aforementioned parking assistance system, heated front seats and a heads-up display.
Both the variants of the Aceman (Acemen?) can be charged with an 11 kW AC charger. There are fast charging options available for both the trims too, a 75 kW DC charger for the Aceman E and a DC charger of upto 95 kW for the Aceman SE. The fast chargers will charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
