The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s has been launched, and here’s all you need to know about it:
There are six variants at launch, and with the prices they are:
LDi – Rs 7 lakh
LDi (O) – Rs 7.1 lakh
VDi – Rs 7.6 lakh
VDi (O) – Rs 7.8 lakh
ZDi – Rs 8.6 lakh
ZDi + – Rs 9.7 lakh
All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi
Every variant gets a driver’s airbag as standard. Dual front airbags, ABS and EBD are optional on the base and mid-spec variants. In the LDi, other than the driver’s airbag you get a music system with Bluetooth, front power windows, and electrically adjustable mirrors. The VDi variant adds rear parking sensors, keyless entry, rear power windows and body coloured handles and mirrors to what the LDi offers. However unlike the LDi (O), the VDi makes do with only a driver’s airbag. To get the rest of the safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD, one has to opt for the VDi (O) variant. The ZDi adds to the VDi’s features list 16 inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, rear wash/wipe, steering mounted audio controls, a height adjustable driver’s seat and climate control. The full safety package with dual airbags, ABS and EBD is standard on the ZDi. Only the ZDi+ gets the dual exterior colour options which were showcased at the Auto Expo. Along with that, the Plus also gets the same 7-inch Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay as on the Baleno. Other value adds for the plus are automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, push button start/stop, reverse camera and electrically folding mirrors.
The Brezza as of now will be available only with the 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine in 89 bhp tune with 20.4 kgm paired with a five speed manual gearbox. We expect the 1.0 BoosterJet to make an appearance closer to the Baleno BoosterJet’s launch later this year. Also on the cards will be a CVT automatic transmission mated to that engine – and we’re sincerely hoping Maruti has plans to introduce the diesel AMT that has debuted on the Dzire.
