The fuel prices in India are at an all-time high and the lack of charging infrastructure for EVs isn’t helping. And Maruti Suzuki’s all-new Celerio comes into the picture at the right time. Because Maruti Suzuki claims that the all-new Celerio is the most fuel-efficient petrol car offering a mileage of 26.68 kpl. Of course, there’s plenty of things contributing to that number, the number one factor being its next-gen K-series 1.0-litre engine which produces 66 bhp@5500 rpm and 9.07 kgm of torque@3500 rpm. This engine comes with a choice of a manual gearbox and AGS. Moreover, it gets segment-first features like the idle start-stop system, hill hold assist function with AGS, among others.
As far as safety is concerned, the all-new Celerio is built on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform. Also, it comes with features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and now uses high tensile steel. Inside, it gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, engine push start with smart key and 60:40 split rear seats. It now comes with a 313-litre boot space, which is 40 per cent larger than before.
Prices for the Celerio starts from Rs 4.99 lakh for the Lxi variant (manual) and go all the way up to Rs 6.94 lakh (all prices ex-showroom) for the Zxi+ variant (AGS). You can choose between six colours: Solid Fire Red and Speedy Blue along with Arctic White, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, and Caffeine Brown. Do stay tuned for our detailed review of the all-new Celerio.
