Mercedes-Benz India has delivered the first-ever AMG GT ‘Black Series’ in India, reiterating its focus on the top-end vehicle segment. It is also one of the fastest production cars on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife circuit. It was delivered to supercar enthusiast Boopesh Reddy, who owns supercars like the SLS AMG, AMG G 63 and many other top-end Mercedes-Benz cars.
The AMG GT Black Series features a 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo engine with a flat crankshaft. This mill churns out 81.57 kgm of torque and generates 730 bhp at 6700-6900 rpm. It comes mated to a reinforced AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for higher torque. The supercar can also sprint from zero to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds.
The exterior of the AMG GT Black Series sees further upgrades for reduced drag and improved aerodynamics. It has aerodynamic measures integrated into the bodyshell for lower air resistance and increased downforce. Effective wheel-arch ventilation and adjustable flaps on the upper rear aerofoil blade add to this. Integrated cool air ducts in the side member panelling help cool the brakes at the rear axle.
On the interior, we see exclusive Nappa leather in black with contrasting orange topstitching and matte-black carbon fibre trim. It gets a larger radiator trim inspired by the GT3 racing car with vertical struts in dark chrome. Additionally, it also gets a manually adjustable front splitter for racetrack use, with a carbon fibre front diffuser.
The price of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series starts at Rs 5.50 crores (ex-showroom), based on individual configurations. India will get only two exclusive pieces of this rare performance machine due to its massive global demand.
